Learn about innovative new healthtech being deployed across Africa to improve care | In partnership with the UK Department for Business and Trade
Managing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, diabetes and respiratory diseases is expensive for insurers. Repeat admissions, delays in seeking treatment and balancing co-morbidities are just some of the ways costs can stack up. With 20 million people in Africa living with cardiovascular diseases¹, and the number of people with diabetes expected to reach 47 million by 2025², a shift to more proactive care could be the solution.
So, how can you enhance the management of these conditions and improve customer care, all while lowering your costs? Join our upcoming webinar to learn how an innovative health technology deployed widely in the UK’s NHS and several pilots across Africa, is helping to reduce hospital admissions and drive return on investment.
This session will feature insights from:
- Noel O’Kelly, Ex NHS Medical Director with over 25 years of clinical experience & Co-Founder of Clinitouch
- Dr John Adesioye, CEO of Nigeria-based Utopian Consulting
- Senior representative from the UK Department for Business and Trade for West Africa
- Bruce Adams, Commercial Director at Clinitouch
We’ll present data from our Health Economist and share insights from our live project working with an insurance company in Johannesburg, drilling down into current healthcare challenges across West Africa and how Clinitouch can be used to solve them.
Using prevalent non-communicable diseases such as COPD, heart failure and hypertension, we’ll demonstrate how monitoring patients' health remotely and providing early interventions can help to reduce avoidable admissions and lower the likelihood of complications and deterioration.
This session will provide a deeper understanding of how you can utilise remote patient monitoring technology in your region to deliver better patient outcomes for your customers and importantly, lower the cost of health insurance claims.
What is remote patient monitoring?
Remote patient monitoring is a way for healthcare teams to track and manage patients' health conditions from any location. Patients use devices such as Clinitouch to combine patient questionnaires and vital signs monitoring such as blood pressure and oxygen saturation to measure their health data at home. This data is then sent to their healthcare team, who can monitor their condition, provide guidance, and intervene sooner where necessary, all without the patient having to visit the clinic or hospital.
The Clinitouch platform is backed by proven successes in the UK’s NHS for over a decade and is now being used to power several digital health projects across the globe including South Africa and Ghana.
